Gaya Yatra Itinary 2N/3D

Day 1: Arrival in Gaya – Vishnupad Temple & Local Darshan

Morning

  • Arrive at Gaya Railway Station.
  • Check in to hotel and freshen up.
  • Visit Vishnupad Temple, the most important pilgrimage site in Gaya.
  • Take darshan and perform rituals if planned.

Afternoon

  • Lunch at a local vegetarian restaurant.
  • Visit Falgu River for pind daan/tarpan rituals (if applicable).
  • Visit Mangla Gauri Temple, one of the Shakti Peethas.

Evening

  • Attend evening aarti at Vishnupad Temple.
  • Overnight stay in Gaya.

Morning

  • Travel to Bodh Gaya (about 15 km from Gaya).
  • Visit Mahabodhi Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
  • Offer prayers under the sacred Bodhi Tree.

Afternoon

  • Visit Great Buddha Statue.
  • Explore Thai, Japanese, Tibetan, and Bhutanese monasteries.

Evening

  • Meditation and peaceful walk around the Mahabodhi complex.
  • Return to Gaya for overnight stay.

Morning

  • Visit Pretshila Hill, important for ancestral rites.
  • Visit Brahmayoni Hill if time permits.

Afternoon

  • Lunch and shopping for local sweets/souvenirs.
  • Proceed to Gaya Railway Station for return journey to West Bengal.

Day 1: Gaya + Bodh Gaya

Morning

  • Arrive in Gaya and check in to your hotel.
  • Visit Vishnupad Temple.
  • Visit Mangla Gauri Temple.

Afternoon

  • Travel to Bodh Gaya (30–40 minutes).
  • Visit Mahabodhi Temple and the Bodhi Tree.
  • Explore the nearby international monasteries (Thai, Japanese, Tibetan).

Evening

  • Visit Great Buddha Statue.
  • Enjoy the illuminated Mahabodhi Temple complex at night.
  • Overnight stay in Bodh Gaya or Gaya.

Early Morning

  • Visit Dungeshwari Cave Temples, where Buddha is believed to have meditated before attaining enlightenment.

Morning

  • Visit Sujata Stupa and Sujata Village.

Late Morning

  • Climb Brahmayoni Hill for panoramic views of Gaya.

Optional (if you have extra 3–4 hours before departure)

  • Visit Barabar Caves, India’s oldest surviving rock-cut caves (about 40 km from Gaya).

Afternoon

  • Lunch and departure from Gaya.
